THE LOCAL AREA
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.
London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination. Spitalfields markets, once a Sunday-only mainstay, are open every day. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, Spitalfields Traders Market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks and as well as food.
Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell and Giraffe.
COLUMBIA STREET FLOWER MARKET
For an authentic East London experience, nothing comes close to Columbia Road market on a Sunday morning. Jam packed with the best blooms in the capital, it’s a lively and pretty noisy affair (and not for those who prefer peace and quiet on a Sunday), with salt-of-the-earth Eastender types, shouting at the top of their lungs and all trying to outdo one another's patter.
During the rest of the week you can dine and shop at the rest of the quaint little restaurants and boutiques.

We have a short city break London made (4 nights). Have a convenient accommodation for 2 people wanted. The room was right with windows on the busy road. The windows are not protective in front of noise. For people who do not sleep well, is not suitable. Otherwise, decent bathroom, kitchen with equipment for cooking. If you lot out there is doing and only for sleeping is as low budget accommodation is perfectly fine. With WIFI did not work out with us for some reason. The owner We have not encountered, but he has explained in detail via email everything.
Wir haben eine kurze Stadtreise London (4 Nächte) gemacht. Haben eine günstige Unterkunft für 2 Personen gesucht. Das Zimmer lag direkt mit Fenstern auf die stark befahrene Straße. Die Fenster sind kein Schutz vorm Lärm. Für Leute, die nicht gut schlafen, ist nicht geeignet. Ansonsten ordentliches Bad, Küche mit Ausrüstung zum Kochen. Wenn man viel draußen unternimmt und nur zum Schlafen da ist, als low budget Unterkunft geht völlig in Ordnung. Mit WIFI hat es bei uns aus irgendeinem Grund nicht geklappt. Den Vermieter haben wir nicht angetroffen, aber er hat per e-mail alles ausführlich erklärt.
Our stay in this room was really nice.
The apartment is located in the 2nd zone, very close to two underground stations (Whitechapel and Stepney Green) and two buses (lines 25 and 205). The room is clean and big (the only flaw is the bed that is on wheels). The kitchen bright, hygienic so is the bathroom.
The host excellent. Although we had no opportunity to meet Kazzos, week prior to our arrival, he gave us all the instructions needed how to get the apartment.
The surroundings of the apartment are a little bit filthy, but it's not that bad.
I recommend this accommodation to everyone! :-)
Check-in went smoothly with a key box. The room itself was very neat, but smelled strongly of fire upon entering. The room key must always insert something oblique, because otherwise it can not be turn, this is very annoying in the long run. The door made noises often because this was not really maintained properly in the anchorage.
The first two days was the bathroom relatively dirty and the water did not drain, so we had to shower in the mud of the other residents. After an e-mail to the gas Teber the issue is resolved.
Der Check-In lief problemlos über einen Schlüsselkasten. Das Zimmer selbst war sehr ordentlich, roch jedoch bei Betreten stark nach Feuer. Den Zimmerschlüssel muss man immer etwas Schräg einstecken, da er sich ansonsten nicht drehen lässt, dies ist auf Dauer sehr nervig. Auch machte die Tür öfter Geräusche, da diese nicht wirklich richtig in der Verankerung gehalten wurde.
Die ersten beiden Tage war das Badezimmer relativ dreckig und das Wasser floss nicht ab, wodurch man im Dreck der anderen Bewohner duschen musste. Nach einer E-Mail an den Gasteber wurde das Problem behoben.
A total letdown!
Insecurity, very loud, all apartments in the area had not barred windows only our room, although it was on the ground floor.
Windows and doors could not be securely closed and a stranger we encountered on the road opened the safe in which the keys were kept to the apartment. The person disappeared shortly after you showed us the ramshackle and dilapidated apartment hatte.Bilder thus corresponded in no way the truth. When we turned in writing to the landlord, carried no feedback. However, prior to our arrival he always answered in a very short time. The room was, despite already effected payment, collected again on the spot.
All in all a highly dubious offer that literally stinks of rip-off!
Complaint was not taken seriously at Wimdu, it was carried out to date, despite a willingness to compromise on our part, no refund!
Due to the unreasonable conditions we were forced to look for another accommodation.
Ein absoluter Reinfall!
Unsichere Lage, sehr Laut, alle Wohnungen in der Umgebung hatten vergitterte Fenster nur unser Zimmer nicht, obwohl es im Erdgeschoss lag.
Fenster und Türen konnten nicht sicher verschlossen werden und eine Fremde Person die wir auf der Straße antrafen öffnete den Safe in dem die Schlüssel zur Wohnung aufbewahrt wurden. Die Person verschwand kurz nachdem Sie uns die marode und baufällig Wohnung gezeigt hatte.Bilder entsprachen also in keinster Weise der Wahrheit. Als wir uns schriftlich an den Vermieter wendeten, erfolgte keinerlei Rückmeldung. Vor unserer Anreise antwortete er jedoch immer in kürzester Zeit. Zimmerpreis wurde, trotz bereits erfolgter Bezahlung, vor Ort erneut eingefordert.
Alles in Allem ein äußerst unseriöses Angebot, dass regelrecht nach Abzocke stinkt!
Reklamation wurde bei Wimdu nicht ernst genommen, es erfolgte bis heute, trotz Kompromissbereitschaft unsererseits, keine Rückerstattung!
Aufgrund der unzumutbaren Zustände waren wir gezwungen eine andere Unterkunft zu suchen.
Great Room in Central London
Our stay at Kazzos's was good. Very close to an underground station and is on a street with lots of food places and a supermarket right across the street. Our room was nice, cozy and very clean however it lead to the street and was very noisy. The bathroom was clean but the shower drained was clogged. Overall we had a pleasant stay here.
I am normally happy with the rooms but this time the wardrobe was dirty! Had dust all over the top and inside of the wardrobe. Other than that, is a really good apartment.
The location was very good, 5 minutes walking from the underground station and close to tourist places. The flat was clean and the room too, the kitchen was well equiped, washing machine, etc. I definetly would come back.
Best value for money.
So the standard of the room corresponds to the amount I paid for rent (outside the radiator who was permanently switched on and there was no possibility of its closure). Ktchen was of a good Standard. The bathroom was so small the person with overweight certainly to her would not fit. We could not to use the shower and washbasin because the tub was clogged all the time. The pipes in the bathroom leaked water all the time on ground floor.
So far as I can this apartment to recommend for the future.
