This little apartment is fabulous for one or two people; for short or long stay. Great for an academic doing research in Venice! It is clean and reasonably well stocked in utensils and appliances. The outlook is beautiful - you see both a canal and a rio terra which terminate below your window; what a bonus in Venice!! Cafes/restaurants and bars are directly below the large sunny windows (a bit noisy, but not bothersome - fun to see the youths pull up in their speedboats like roosters all preened, blaring music [not too often]). The walk to the centre is lovely and easy - about 15 minutes - and a great way to start your day. There are many beautiful parks and campi very close by to explore too (and plenty of dogs in jackets nicer than mine!). Adriano is a very nice and accommodating host who is quick to reply to emails. I stayed in the apartment for 3 weeks, so I know it reasonably well - it was great to crash there after a long work day or to stay in and 'work from home'. If you like long showers, easy accessibility (it is up a number of flights of stairs) or quiet, this is probably not for you. If you like to be away from tourists, in a cool spot and like a morning jog...grab this one! Karen (Sydney, Australia)
Nice flat, great, calm location, 10minutes by foot to the city centre, would alway come back there!
Adriano is a friendly, welcoming and helpful host who also speaks English. Although not needed, I suspect nothing is too much trouble for him. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and water for us from Adriano. He also provided us with a map of Venice, entering areas of interest. There was also oil, pasta, vinegar etc. which were presumably left by other guests.
The location is great. Short walk to San Marco and even shorter walks to the main Biennale pavilions at Arsenale and Giardini. Giardini and Arsenale vaporetto stops are very close. The street itself is wide, has bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, vegetable and fish stalls and a small supermarket. It is a busy street so will not be quiet until later at night.
The apartment is clean, modern and although small, it is great for 1 or 2 people for a city break or short stay. Although we did not use it, there is air conditioning which will be a necessity during the summer months.
I had a wonderful 2 weeks stay in Venice and in Adriano's lovely apartment. Everything was perfect and I would love to come back again when visiting Venice another time. The place was perfect, both inside and the environment around. It was amazing to follow the everyday life from the windows. Only a short walk to the nearest vaporetto - and by that: Close to "everything" in Venice and the islands around.
Adriano was very kind and answered a lot of question when I booked and he met me at the vaporetto-stop Giardini when I arrived (40 minutes too late) and followed me back the day I left. He also offered guiding and help during my stay, so I felt safe and comfortable with him as a host.
Thanks a lot to Adriano for being so kind and helpful!
A big thanks to Adriano. He gave us a very nice and explained everything. Despite our lack of knowledge of foreign languages everything worked out fine. The small apartment is recommended for a short stay in Venice very.
We would choose this hotel gladly again at a next vacation in Venice.
Pretty small apartment in Via Garibaldi, with B! Ick to the hustle and bustle in town district. On foot it is 10 minutes to the St. Mark's Square. We were welcomed by Adriano nice and we felt very well in Venice.
The apartment is absolutely recommended for a short stay.
Adriano is very welcoming, the apartment is well located in a quiet area close to 2 vaporetto stations. The apartment located on the 3rd floor is clean, well equipped. Venice is a very pleasant city to visit.
I felt very comfortable in Venice Sestiere Castello, a pleasantly quiet area, just 15 minutes from the bustling San Marco square. In Via Garibaldi you will find all the shops that you need in good to very good quality. The people are friendly and Adriano, the 'host' cares well for his tenant. I am gone all round good there. I is only four star forgive - forgive me Adriano - on the divan bed in the apartment, which should be replaced.
Would I recommend Wimdu? I have already done!
A very pleasant stay during the final weekend of the 2015 Carnival. Adriano showed us around, gave us a lot of advices on how to get around Venice, what to see, to eat etc. He was very helpful and hospitable, and even gave us a bottle of champagne. Thanks again for that! The apartment is close to the San Marco Square and also in proximity of the all’Arsenale show - so a great location for a small price.
We have found a nice room. A big plus was that we ourselves were able to cook something. The location is great, close to everything.
We would definitely come back.
